So I decide to send a marketing email to my 3600 contacts list on mailgun. I send the email (over SMTP) and I look at the logs. Surprise, the amount of emails delivered keeps growing each minute, way over 3600. It reached somewhere to 130,000 messages sent to the 3600 email addresses on my list. Some of them have received over 70 emails. I have a look trying to understand what happened, I contact mailgun support, the answers are completely out of topic, useless. What I could figure out so far: so I send one email to 3600 email addresses; one of them has an auto-responder set; so the automatic response comes back to the mailgun set-up email addresse used to sent the initial email, my email; so this mailgun email address triggers an additional 3600 messages, to my entire list, with the auto-response message in the body of the message; so, some people answer back to this message, confused, didn't understand what's happenin; guess what, their responses are received by the same server email address and forwarded to the same 3600 email address in thee initial email; and so on...so this is how you go from 3600 email initially sent, to over 130,000 emails delivered. Funny thing, the guys that are supposed to understand what happened, what went wrong, are coming back obviously clueless. Maybe someone here can reveal some light, hopefully
